Lactobacillus drink benefits IBS-C
We explored the impact of a Lactobacillus-containing cultured milk drink on individuals with constipation-predominant irritable bowel syndrome (IBS-C). Over 30 days, participants consumed this drink daily while we assessed their clinical symptoms and inflammatory markers.

Impressively, 97.4% reported improvement in symptoms, along with noticeable reductions in intestinal transit time and fecal pH. Evidence also showed lowered levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines in IBS-C participants, supporting potential adjunctive benefits of this treatment for IBS-C patients.

Probiotics improve IBS symptoms
This study looked into the effects of two probiotic strains, DDS-1 and UABla-12, on alleviating abdominal pain and other IBS symptoms.

We observed that participants taking these probiotics experienced notable reductions in pain severity and overall symptom scores compared to those receiving a placebo.

Specifically, both probiotic groups reported improved bowel habits and stool consistency, enhancing quality of life for adults facing IBS.

Overall, the results suggest that these probiotic strains can be beneficial for managing symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome.

Probiotics show promise for IBS relief
We evaluated the efficacy of quadruple-coated probiotics in patients with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). One hundred and nine participants were randomly assigned to either the probiotic or placebo group for four weeks.

Participants recorded their symptoms, and we noted a significant improvement in overall IBS symptoms, particularly in female and constipation-predominant patients. The results were promising, suggesting that these probiotics can provide relief. However, further studies are needed to explore why women respond differently to this treatment.

Effective for constipation
9 people found this helpful
The intestines have responded to two pills, but hydration is crucial. I suffered from severe constipation, going three days without a bowel movement despite normal tests. My intestines were weak, so I tried this product. The manufacturer claimed I could achieve 2-3 bowel movements daily. I began with one tablet morning and evening, and the effect was noticeable after two daily tablets. I found relief and plan to increase my dose slightly at night. It is essential to drink plenty of water with the pill and throughout the day – at least eight glasses. Initially, I neglected my water intake and felt unwell, but after hydrating properly, everything normalised. The effect is remarkable; I'm truly satisfied with the results. The tablets are small, green, and easy to swallow. I wholeheartedly recommend them.

After using many bottles, the stress surrounding my bowel movements is gone. Other detox supplements I tried didn't work. Once this ColonCleanse arrived, my intestinal condition improved. Individual differences exist, but I plan to keep using it.

Effective probiotic IBS treatment
This randomized, single-blinded trial evaluated the impact of probiotics, specifically Lactobacillus acidophilus and plantarum, on patients with diarrhea-predominant irritable bowel syndrome (IBS-D).

We found that when added to standard IBS treatment, these probiotics significantly improved symptoms over a 12-week period.

Group B, the probiotic group, experienced better results, including fewer days with pain and greater satisfaction with bowel habits. While both groups saw reductions in IBS severity, the probiotics led to complete remission in many patients, which is promising for future treatment guidelines.

Lactobacillus aids IBS-related depression
We examined how consuming a cultured milk drink with Lactobacillus acidophilus might impact depression in patients with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). The study involved 110 participants who were divided into groups to receive either the probiotic drink or a placebo over 12 weeks.

Those with subthreshold depression experienced significant reductions in depression scores. The probiotic group even saw boosts in serotonin levels and improvements in quality of life. Although everyone reported reduced IBS severity, the probiotics specifically showed notable potential in managing depressive symptoms linked to IBS.

Temporary solution

This product helps improve bowel function swiftly. However, once I stop using it, my issues return, despite maintaining a proper diet and taking additional fibre.
2
Not effective
I saw no improvement after taking these tablets for a month (one in the morning and one in the evening). I still experienced three-day intervals between bowel movements and needed to take them daily. It did not meet my expectations for a straightforward colon cleanse.

Probiotics help relieve IBS symptoms
We investigated the impact of multispecies probiotics, including Lactobacillus acidophilus, in treating irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). In a randomized, double-blind study with 49 participants, those taking probiotics experienced significantly more symptom relief than those on a placebo after four weeks.

The probiotics not only eased abdominal discomfort and bloating but also positively altered gut bacteria. Our findings suggest that multispecies probiotics could be a valuable option for managing IBS symptoms.
7
Probiotics affect IBS-D microbiota
We examined how different gut bacteria in patients with diarrhea-predominant irritable bowel syndrome (IBS-D) responded to probiotic treatment. In our study, patients were split into a probiotic group and a placebo group, with fecal samples collected before and after eight weeks.

Although we found changes in fecal bacteria due to probiotics, the results indicated that not all patients benefited equally. We noted specific gut bacteria correlated with symptom relief, pointing to potential indicators for predicting who might not respond to probiotics.
